As discussed at the WeCre8 meeting last night, social networking websites can be a great tool to become known and get jobs. Here is a list of the few I have heard about:
http://www.myspace.com/, http://www.facebook.com/, http://www.bebo.com/, http://www.habbo.com/, http://www.flickr.com/, http://www.gather.com/, http://www.linkedin.com/, http://www.ryze.com/, http://www.plaxo.com/, http://www.digg.com/, http://www.youtube.com/, http://twitter.com/.
They all target different areas - social, business, images, teenagers, and so on.
They are useful for building your brand, attracting new customers by growing your network, gaining feedback on your product, entering forums and many other as yet-to-be-discovered useful things.
Another newsworthy item on this topic is that Visa recently launched the Visa Business Network on Facebook. It’s designed to help small business owners attract new business by connecting with the thousands of businesses on Facebook. Members can share information about businesses they like, and market their own business by advertising it to other Facebook users.
And finally, the freelancers website I was talking about is http://www.thefreelancefactory.com.au/.
Best of luck! Felicity.

Hi all, I am a wecre8 member, what a great bunch of women. We're mostly all mums running our own fabulous businesses. I have merged with another photographer and we have finally moved into our new studio at Brookvale. We are in a beautiful complex and have a 25 metre pool next to us. We are naming our selves Vanilla Bean Pictures - sounds yummy! We are still doing portraits, weddings, corporate, commercial and going into fashion stylized shoots for everyday women who would love to have a gorgeous image of themselves. We are also doing a portrait competition and have a main prize of a family farmstay holiday, raising money for Bear Cottage at Manly. Details to come! www.vanillabeanpictures.com.au. Angela C xxxx
